The average person thinks that tornadoes only happen in the Midwest but as the town of Bridgeport, Connecticut recently learned that’s not always the case. Just a few days ago residents were hit with and F1 tornado. Homes and buildings were damage and there were some injuries. As usual the American Red Cross was on the scene providing shelter to those who needed it, handing out food and water along with providing other services as needed. Weather events like these aren’t very common in the Northeast but they do happen and regardless of how often they occur people should always be prepared and message that the American Red Cross always tries to send out. One of the best ways to reduce injuries and damage caused by an emergency is by being prepared and taking preventative measures.
The American Red Cross urges people to be prepared and provides information on different safety precautions people can take to stay safe however, disasters still strike and they need to be there. You can help them be there when they’re needed the most by donating your car to your local chapter, the proceeds from car donations go towards emergency prevention and response. Your donated car could help someone in an emergency situation receive food, water even temporary shelter. This organization depends heavily upon donations and we depend heavily upon The American Red Cross to be there when we need them. You or someone you know can donate a car to charity and help keep people safe when disaster strikes. As we’ve all recently seen these events cannot be foreseen but we can still be prepared or at the very least equipped to respond. Make a vehicle donation today and help make a difference during an emergency. You’ll be really glad you did.
