When the American Red Cross and military meet over car donation

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

There are many things that the American Red Cross has been proud to support over the last few decades. Among those, public safety has been a chief concern in a number of different ways. It goes well beyond that, though. The Red Cross also has something that they have been proud to be a part of in the last century. That is military support, and it is a basic tenet of the charity’s code.

The things that the American Red Cross is able to do for the military are incredibly important on a number of different levels, and few of them would be possible without the effective car donation program that has been running over the last few years. For instance, all over the country, the Red Cross has been checking up on wives and children of military personnel, just to make sure that those folks are doing as well as possible.

They have also been hosting events for these people, just to raise their spirits. These things are important for communities, and that is what the Red Cross is all about. When you donate a car, you are not just giving a simple donation to the Red Cross. You are, instead, helping to make people’s lives better.

The support for the military is an American tradition that the Red Cross takes very seriously. That is why they are so into raising money through the car donation program and it is why they have put such an intense amount of focus on that portion of their fundraising drive.

How does the new presidential administration effect car donation?

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

In Washington, D.C., the winds of change have been blowing over the last year, and that has an impact on charities, as well. Along those lines, the American Red Cross has been impacted in many ways by the new presidential administration. Specifically, the car donation program that powers much of the Red Cross’s efforts has had its bottom line affected. But has it been a positive change or a negative one?

That question isn’t so much a political one, since the answer is pretty much cut and dry. Though you will never hear President Obama ask people to donate a car in Washington, the emphasis on public service has been a staple of his first year in office.

Even during the campaign period, Obama encouraged individuals to give of their time and give of their possessions to help out those in need. But simply giving that type of support has not been the only way that the new administration has helped to boost car donation.

There have also been some quantifiable changes that have taken place. The President has made sure that the tax plan includes some breaks for those people who want to donate a car to charity. Though the breaks have always been there to help car donation, it appears that they are here to stay for quite some time to come. The emphasis on service has not just been a bit of lip service in this instance. Instead, the follow through has helped make it a reality, and places like the American Red Cross have been a beneficiary.

Car donation powers the side of the American Red Cross that you don’t see

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Blood mobiles have long been the staple of the American Red Cross. Though they certainly do a ton of work with their blood drives and the like, that is not all that the charity has going on throughout the year. Still, many people think of the American Red Cross as the bunch of people who go out and collect blood only. Car donation programs have raised funds and made it possible for the Red Cross to do much more than that.

When people make a car donation to the charity, the funds from the sale of that car go right into the organization’s coffers. What that means is that the organization can extend its arms a little bit and reach out in other areas of the community. This has happened even more over the last few years, too.

So what is this side that you don’t see?

In many areas of the country, it is the lifeguard training, the safety preparation, and all of the little things that make communities more safe than they otherwise would have been. Pools, lakes, and beaches are much safer now because the American Red Cross is able to go and train lifeguards the right way.

You might also not know that car donation has enabled the American Red Cross to dip its hand in many community building efforts. Behind the scenes, charities like the Red Cross are there to support other charities that focus more on community than anything else. That is a part of the American Red Cross legacy, and it’s something they are very proud of.

American Red Cross vehicle donation program powers community development

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

When most people think of the American Red Cross, they immediately think of the blood mobiles that sit out and collect all different types of blood from people who are willing to donate. But that is not all that the Red Cross is about, and that is certainly not the only donations they solicit.

The American Red Cross is a community driven organization and many of their programs are centered around making communities better. What this means, of course, is that the volunteers and paid professionals working for the Red Cross are getting out there and changing lives in lots of different ways. This can’t happen for free, though, which is why the vehicle donation program has become such a huge focus.

Charity organizations all over the country have started to take notice of the power that goes along with vehicle donation. When someone donates a vehicle to charity, everybody wins and it is the quickest way for a charity like the Red Cross to get lots of funds. Little donations do a great deal to help, but when it comes in big chunks like that, the charity can really get moving.

In places like Washington, D.C., where there are lots of military families, the Red Cross is providing support and hosting events in order to help make the people feel more at home. This wouldn’t be possible without people participating in the vehicle donation program. That is why the charity will continue to push the program going forward, and extol its merits to any people who might have an interest in philanthropy.

American Red Cross summer events in D.C. add to the vehicle donation programs

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

This summer, the American Red Cross has been incredibly active all around the Washington, D.C. area. The cool thing about this charity is that they raise money in lots of different ways. Whether it is a ball, golf tournament, Oscar viewing party, or something else, there are events going on that help the Red Cross come away with more funds than they had before. But what is going on behind the scenes is that the Red Cross is still looking for more out of their vehicle donation programs.

This summer in Alexandria, the American Red Cross has been putting on waterfront festivals and all sorts of other events. These are fun things that people enjoy going to, and they have done well in raising money to support programs. But nothing compares to when the Red Cross does well with the vehicle donation portion of their fundraising effort.

Getting people involved with fundraising is very important for the Red Cross. They want folks to have a good time and they want communities to come together and see what the charity is all about. By just going with a vehicle donation effort, they would be missing out on this type of thing. But at the same time, the folks in charge in D.C. understand that without a continued strong showing in vehicle donation, they would have a very hard time impacting the community as well as they have in the past few years.

When you donate a vehicle, you enable the Red Cross to do a little bit more, and that is making the community a safer place for everyone.
