All across the United States, there are charities looking to do much the same thing. For many of these organizations, the idea right now is not only to run their popular fundraising programs like the American Red Cross’s car donation program, but it is to promote philanthropy in other ways. For the Red Cross, the car donation program is king for their effort, but the idea now is to promote giving among younger people.
Learning to give to charity can be a big step for people, and today’s kids are surprisingly more likely to give than their predecessors. This might have something to do with the free-spending ways of the young people today or it might simply be the product of good marketing on the part of organizations like the Red Cross. Whatever the case, the giving among today’s youth is up, and it’s going strong.
There is obviously no way that a young person is going to be able to seriously jump into the car donation program, but that is not what the American Red Cross is looking for. They take donations of all sizes, and the small donations often come from young people.
Every little bit helps, and the car donations power the big efforts for the Red Cross. The little donations that might come from young people can go towards developing a new program, though, and they really do make a huge difference. Some people don’t like to give because they don’t think it makes a difference, but the organization definitely needs and appreciates every little bit that they can get.
