The American Red Cross spends much of its time and lots of its money asking for blood donations, but the organization is about much more than that. When they are not sending out those good looking blood mobiles, they are soliciting motorcycle donations so that the good works can continue.
While this is taking place all over the country, few chapters of the Red Cross have been as active as the Washington, D.C. chapter. While car donation has been a big deal for charities for quite some time, there are plenty of charities that are asking for smaller donations that can still help them out. That is where motorcycle donation comes into play.
The basics of motorcycle donation are pretty much the same as with car donation. People are asked to donate their used motorcycles, so that the bikes or the bike parts can be sold to people all around. How does that benefit the American Red Cross?
As you might guess, going out and doing blood drives takes money. Doing projects in the community takes a great deal of cash, too. If the organization is going to keep making D.C. a better place to live for everyone there, then they absolutely must collect funds in bulk. If car donation is too much for people, then maybe they are willing to send a chopper to the Red Cross, since it can bring big returns to the bottom line, too. The tax benefits are the same, and it is another way to get involved in helping Washington become a better place for everyone.
