We live in a society in which most of us have a surplus of goods. Many of us have too many goods these days, and some of us even have unwanted vehicles that we don’t need! Thankfully, there are car donation programs that allow owners of unwanted cars, trucks, or motorcycles to give them to charity. They are then sold by the charity and the proceeds go toward helping those who DON’T have a lot in this society.
There are many disabled or disadvantaged individuals in this country that are in need of help. Some Goodwill Industries® programs provide job training and education services to those in need. Even during the recession over the last couple of years, these services brought some relief and assistance to many people, all thanks to the kindness of those who donate vehicles.
Here are a few ways in which people can help out with donate a car programs.
• They can donate the vehicle itself to the charitable organization. It will then be sold at an auction or fundraiser and the proceeds will go toward services and programs that will help those in need.
• They can get others involved and have their own fundraiser. After all the cars are sold, they can give all the proceeds to their charitable organization of choice.
• They can simply sell their car themselves and then give 100% of the proceeds to a charity. Although Goodwill Industries® does give most of the proceeds to good causes, they still have to pay a towing fee. Donors who sell the donated car themselves will ensure that their preferred charity will receive 100% of the money!
